boo-koo is Gibney Dance’s residency and community giveback initiative for early- to mid-career dance and performance artists.

boo-koo is slang for the French word beaucoup, meaning “much” or “a lot.” Our residency program embraces the notion that our community is abundant with talent and ingenuity and attempts to harness the power of reciprocity and resource sharing.

boo-koo is a residency program that values bringing together artists at different stages of their career to work on their own time, share resources as a cohort, and benefit from a variety of offerings that Gibney Dance provides. Each boo-koo recipient will schedule their 50 granted hours at their convenience, receive a $1,000 stipend, and have support in creating and completing a project that supports both the selected artists and the community that they work in. boo-koo is not accepting applications this year. Please check back in Spring 2018 for updates.
