  • DTI Pro Saturday: Computers as Collaborators with Adam Stasiw
    Saturday, February 3 / 12:30 - 3:30 pm

    How can technology serve as a creative partner in the choreographic process? This workshop will use smartphones, a Microsoft Kinect, machine learning, and various custom software to generate live music, create visual projections, and inspire movement in participants’ own bodies. Bring a smartphone, if you can.

  • DTI Pro Saturday: Manipulating Music with Matt Otto
    Saturday, March 3 / 12:30 - 3:30 pm

    Manipulating Music will cover the wonderful world of music editing and manipulation. Participants will dismantle and re-compose a piece of music to create something brand new. The workshop will cover properties like Attack, Sustain, Decay and Release, and covering tools/effects such as reverb, panning, reversing, EQ, and compression in an artistic ways.

    Through email marketing, social media and websites, video is the most effective way to communicate with existing and potential audiences. This workshop will focus on creating documentary-style promotional videos, that allow viewers to make visual and emotional connections with you and your work. It will cover general skills and tools for video production, and examine how to increase audience engagement.

  • DTI Pro Saturday: Isadora with Thomas Kavanagh
    Saturday, May 5 / 12:30 - 3:30 pm

    Using the dynamic and responsive video software, Isadora, you can quickly sketch projection ideas for use in performance or long-term installations. In this hands-on workshop aimed specifically at first time and intermediate designers, you’ll learn to rapidly prototype interactive video content for use in live performance or installation. A computer is required for hands-on participation this workshop. A limited number of loaner computers are available for use on a first-come first-serve basis.

  • DTI Pro Saturday: Controlling Systems through Wearable Soft Circuitry with Kiera Heu Jywn Chang
    Saturday, June 2 / 12:30 - 3:30 pm

    In this workshop participants will play with inexpensive, coin-sized sensors which can be sewn into costumes with conductive thread. Explore how to use position, acceleration, light exposure and touch input to control a variety of outputs like LED lights, sounds elements, and video. Students will receive a list of links to all equipment used as well as sample code from all demo projects shown during the class.
