  • Cleonice Fonseca

    Born in Salvador -Bahia, Cleonice began her career with the dance group of the Colégio Central da Bahia, and learned African traditional and contemporary, folkloric, and Orixá dances with renowned teachers like Raimundo Tição, Raimundo King, Raimunda Sena, Tania Bishop, Nildinha Fonseca, and José Ricardo Santos.
    She was a member of the SESC Dance Group for 10 years, and worked with Banda Motumba, Dia e Noite, Lagobada Group, and Bale Folklorico da Bahia. She currently performs with Ologunde and Alo Brazil in Philadelphia, where she also teaches.
