On its face, a performance installation, is observation and articulation in action. Through suggestive experiments, incidents, and accidents, On its face explores the expressive potentials of line and figure in the complicated space between abstraction and representation. Beneath form and surface – skin, if you like – it probes an inevitability, a grotesque physicality, an innate sexuality. On its face marks a decade-long creative collaboration between Gwen Welliver and Stuart Singer with composer Jake Meginsky. The work features Stuart Singer, Gwen Welliver, Jake Meginsky (composer), Reid and Harriet (design), and Chris Cameron (video).
