What are the tools to rock a kick ass entertaining show while balancing on a political activist soap box that allows space for Ecstatic Performance? In Ecstatic Performance Workshop we Confront Internalized Boundaries (The balance of “text book techniques” w/ your honest self). We discover and nurture our Living Voice (Internal Sounds, The Joy In Repetition and falling in love with your vocal chords). We’ll incorporate the sense of play with Ritualistic Maps (a tool for Designing Performance Space – composition, sets, props, the look).
The series of workshops end with Vibrations (Freestyle/Improvisation – Sound/Movement – Trance). Using Ritualistic Maps a setting is communally designed by workshop participants. Soul, classical, hip hop, house, funk, jazz, rock and experimental is our playlist to assist in a communal experience of “Performing Ecstasy.” The final improvisation/gathering is open to invited guests.
