About the Workshop

A full body deep dive into the world of LajaMartin style dance theater. Guided first to listen and follow the body’s intuition, fall into the pleasures of moving. Flow smoothly into a foundation of floor-work to build strength and find efficiency in riding momentum. Push the heights of physicality in phrase work defined my musicality and rhythm while leaning into the power of the group moving as a whole. Utilizing this grounding base, open the theatrical channel through corporeal impulse to investigate the physical body as a portal between real and surreal worlds. Unlock endless possibilities of transformation.

About LajaMartin

Laja Field’s (she/her) passion for live performance is rooted in relatable, nonlinear storytelling that evokes the power of imagination and fosters connections across communities. After eight years of touring, creating, and teaching around the globe, Laja relocated back home to Salt Lake City, Utah. Since her 2019 return, Laja aimes her effort towards local youth as a paraprofessional in dance at West High School. Her company LAJAMARTIN, comprised of Laja Field and Martin Durov, continues to pursue all creative endeavors in performance and education of physical dance theatre.
