The Joyce Master Class Series: Lar Lubovitch Dance Company

Nicole M. Corea will lead this master class as part of the 50th Anniversary celebration of the Lar Lubovitch Dance Company.

Nicole is currently a dancer at the Metropolitan Opera Ballet and the Lar Lubovitch Dance Company.Corea is originally from Palmyra, NY. At the age of 16, she was accepted to The Juilliard School under the direction of Benjamin Harkarvy and graduated with a BFA in 2000.

Upon graduation she joined the ranks of Ballet Hispanico of New York for two seasons where she taught under the well-known Primeros Pasos Syllabus. In her travels with the company, she taught in numerous public and private schools including social and concert dancing. In 2004, Nicole joined Elisa Monte Dance touring throughout the U.S. and abroad for two years. Along with performing, she also taught master classes and repertoire on tour and in NYC as well as staging Monte’s “Lost Objects” on the Ailey School at Fordham. Other company credits include the Metropolitan Opera Ballet, Nilas Martins Dance, Pier Group, Thomas Ortiz, Busch Gardens Tampa, Morales Dance, Mark Stuart Dance Theater, Camille A Brown, as well as numerous independent choreographers throughout NYC, Philadelphia and Miami.

In 2007, she joined Ballet Memphis as a dancer and in 2008, she began choreographing on the company. She has created six original works on Ballet Memphis including a work for the Junior Company at the Orpheum Theater. During that time, Nicole also taught in the Ballet Memphis school and became the Director of Dance at the House of Talent in Cordova, TN. She has also done workshops for Talented Unlimited High School (NYC) Dance Masters of America Chapter 8, Merrit Dance Center (Albany, NY) Sandie Fukes (Utica, NY) Sandy Stramonine (Walworth , NY) and at Kingwood Jazz (Kingwood TX). Regular studio teaching credits include New England Dance Academy (New Canaan ,CT) Germantown Performing Arts (Germantown, TN) House of Talent (Cordova, TN) Petrov School of Ballet (Waldwick, NJ) and Liberated Movement (NYC), Frank Sinatra school of the Arts (NYC), In 2010, she joined the Lar Lubovitch dance company and has represented the company teaching master workshops and staging Lubovitch choreography for various universities and companies in NYC. .  In addition to teaching,
