Workshop at the Hub with Lynn Neuman: TOSS
Community Action Hub at 280 Broadway
We’ve all got stuff. Stuff we use; stuff we don’t use. Why do we hold onto things we don’t use? Why do we use things we don’t need? Please bring one such object to this workshop. Together, we will re-envision use for the things we already have and explore redefining our needs so we can avoid consuming things that inherently produce waste. Dancers and non-dancers welcome.
Lynn Neuman is a director, choreographer, dancer and educator, and Artistic Director of Artichoke Dance Company. Since 2010 her work has investigated the effects of human actions on the urban and natural environment. She is currently a Marion International Fellow for the Visual and Performing Arts, conducting research for a dance-theatre work TOSS, examining the effects of consumption, particularly single-use items, on individual psyches, our collective culture and the plant.
