Is Gibney open?

Gibney has suspended all in-person programming, including space rentals, until further notice. Additionally, our staff members are working remotely at this time. Gibney will continue to reevaluate and notify you as things progress.

Are space rentals and classes still happening?

All in-person activities have been suspended until further notice. A selection of classes are now available online through Gibney Online Studio, but in-person classes and rentals will not take place. Please check this page, our online calendars, and our social media feeds (FacebookInstagramTwitter) for updated information.

I have space booked. What do I do?

If your space is impacted by our temporary suspension of in-person activities, we will be in touch with you directly and offer the below options:

Non-Profit Dance Rehearsal Rentals:

  • Cancel: Please be in touch so we may process your refund. Longer lag times may apply than usual.
  • Donate: If you are able, consider donating your rental back to Gibney during this time of operational challenge.

Contracted Rentals for Workshops/Classes, Auditions, Photo/Videoshoots, Events, etc.:

  • Reschedule: We are happy to work with you to find a new date.
  • Get a Credit: Gibney can provide you with a credit to reschedule your space at a later date, any time prior to December 31, 2020.
  • Cancel: Please be in touch so we may process your refund. Longer lag times may apply than usual.
  • Donate: If you are able, consider donating your rental back to Gibney during this time of operational challenge.
I am scheduled to teach at Gibney. What do I do?

Can I get an extension on my class card?

All active class series and credits will be extended 30 days. When we have plans to resume in-person programming, we will evaluate additional extensions.

How can I stay engaged with Gibney?

How does Gibney Online Studio Work?

Gibney Online Studio is a digital dance space. Join us, wherever you are, for live, online classes with our renowned faculty. View the schedule here.

Payment:

  • Pay what you can. Classes are offered on a sliding scale: $0, $5, or $10. Teaching artists will receive payment regardless of what you are able to contribute.

Registration:

  • Classes will be streamed live via Zoom. Students must pre-register for class and create a (free!) Zoom account to join. Registration will close 20 minutes before the class time. 15 minutes before class, you will receive an email with the Zoom link.
