Gibney Online Studio is a digital dance space. Join us, wherever you are, for live online classes, panels, discussions, and group classes with our renowned faculty. Let’s keep moving together!

Drop-in Classes

As of Friday, July 3, Gibney will pause Online Studio drop-in classes. Drop-in classes may be back in the fall, so stay tuned! We will also offer a series of online workshops in July and August which will be announced soon.

Pay what you can. The suggested contribution is $10, but $5 and free options are also available. The Teaching Artists or Partner Organizations will receive a portion of the proceeds. Existing Class Credits or Class Series cannot be applied to online classes at this time.

Classes will be streamed live via Zoom. Students must pre-register for class and download the Zoom app to join. Registration will close 20 minutes before the class time. 15 minutes before class, you will receive an email with the Zoom link.

Discussion Series & Group Classes

Gibney’s Discussion Series & Group Classes offer resources for groups of students to continue learning together, as an extension of our Group Study Program. Live Group Classes will be led by Gibney Company, and a variety of discussions and panels with NYC dance professionals will be available to stream live, or access at any time via a recording.

Group Classes and Discussions/Panels are available for a small fee to support our organization and artists during this difficult time.

Online Summer Study

Gibney Online Summer Study provides students with a unique, engaging experience with the NYC dance community over two weeks.

The program is designed to build a supportive network, expose students to new and challenging ideas and movement styles, and share strategies for responding to COVID-19 and building a sustainable career in the performing arts.

The program includes a curated schedule of:

  • 16 Movement Classes
  • 4 Creative Process Sessions
  • 6 Artist Panels + Professional Development Discussions
  • 4 Performance Screenings
  • Regular Check-Ins with Staff, Faculty, and fellow students

Online Summer Study is closed to a limited number of participants per session. Students receive individual support and guidance throughout the program. Classes, Creative Process Sessions, and Panels will be closed to program participants only to foster a greater sense of community and connection.

Session I: Monday, June 15 – Friday, June 26
Session II: Monday, July 6 – Friday, July 17

Sessions take place 12-6pm EDT Monday-Friday

SESSION I: Monday, June 1, 11:59pm EST
SESSION II: Monday, June 22, 11:59pm EST

Applications will be reviewed upon submission and students will be notified no later than June 3 for Session I, and June 24 for Session II.

The final schedule and Zoom links will be distributed the week prior to the session, provided payment has been submitted.

$400; Partial Scholarships Available
Application Fee: $50

All applicants must be 18 years of age or older by the start of the program. Gibney does not have a maximum age cap for this program.

Students will need access to stable Wi-Fi, a computer or tablet device with a working camera, access to Zoom, and some space for daily movement classes.
