Alanna is a dance artist originally from Boston, Massachusetts. She graduated with honors from Hofstra University with a BA in Dance and a BA in Psychology in 2023. Alanna has taken part in Gibney’s Winter Study Program, EMIA, Alonzo King’s LINES Winter Intensive, and Cloude NYC’s Jumpstart, among other training programs. Her choreography has been showcased at Hofstra University, ACDA’s Northeast Regional Conference, Journey Dance Awards, Roxey Ballet’s River Dance Festival, and will be showcased at Green Space in 2024. She works administratively with Amanda Selwyn Dance Theatre and as an Assistant Teaching Artist with Mark Morris Dance Group. Alanna’s honors thesis at Hofstra focused on how dance classes can improve/maintain the neurological functioning, cognitive structures, and quality of life of individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease. Her hope is to expand upon this research in the future, and bring the joy, liberation, and community that dance provides to people living with Alzheimer’s and other neurological conditions.
