Allison Sexton is a queer dancer, mover, and maker from the beautiful, yet problematic, state of North Carolina. In 2018, she earned her B.A. in Dance with a concentration in Body, Science, and Motion from Marymount Manhattan College. Where she had the pleasure of working with Elisabeth Motley, Catherine Cabeen, and Nancy Lushington. In the summer of 2017, she studied at the American Dance Festival. There she had the privilege of learning and performing repertory work from Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company, working with Jennifer Nugent, and creating with Jillian Peña. She has a deep passion for movement, in both its performative and healing aspects. She is incredibly grateful to be exploring what dance is and can be, and is so thankful to be a part of the Gibney community.
