Catherine Kirk is a performing artist, choreographer and teaching artist from the unceded land of the Kiickaapoi and Wichita peoples, now known as Dallas, Texas. She has a BFA in dance from New York University, gained her yoga certification through The Perri Institute for Mind and Body and is Reiki certified. Catherine’s dance works explore themes of Black liberation and leisure, communal care, and comment on pop culture through movement anchored in ancestral groove, soul, and improvisation. Catherine was an artist in residence at Art Cake Brooklyn (2020) and the Jonah Bokaer Arts Foundation (2021) and her work has been seen in installation spaces, commercials, and short films. 
For the past nine years Catherine has danced and collaborated with world-renowned choreographer, Kyle Abraham in his company, A.I.M. She has also performed and collaborated with Jasmine Hearn, Kandis Williams, Chuck Wilt of UNA Productions, Bebe Miller, Burr Johnson and Helen Simoneau. Catherine has assisted in creations and re-stagings of repertory for Springboard Danse Montreal, Coddarts Rotterdam, Peabody University, Point Park University and The Juilliard School and she has been an adjunct professor in Improvisation at Hartford University. Catherine has been featured in Netflix’s award winning series, ‘Halston’, Neiman Marcus’ Holiday Campaign, Kaleidoscope Magazine, Flaunt Magazine, and Ultimate Ears.
