Chanel H. Frazier, Managing Director, is the Head of Business Strategy for the Portfolio Management Group (PMG) at BlackRock. PMG encompasses BlackRock’s Fixed Income (Fundamental, Municipals and Financial Institutions, and Index and LDI), Fundamental Equities, Systematic Investments, Multi Asset Strategies and Solutions, and the Global Lending, Liquidity and Private Investors Businesses. As a member of the PMG Executive Committee, she establishes key priorities and leads strategic initiatives across the platform to drive commercial results for the business.
Ms. Frazier is also the Executive Committee sponsor of PMG’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiatives and is a member of the Executive Committee for the firm’s Black Professionals Network. In recognition of her efforts to create a more diverse and inclusive workplace, she was named to the EMpower Top 100 Ethnic Minority Executive Role Models of 2020 list, the first BlackRock leader to receive that honor.
Ms. Frazier’s prior roles at BlackRock have included Chief of Staff for Multi Asset Strategies and Global Fixed Income, and Tax Counsel within the Corporate Tax team. Prior to joining BlackRock, she worked at PwC and at the law firm of Schulte Roth & Zabel LLP, where her clients included private equity and hedge fund managers.
She is also deeply committed to philanthropy and currently serves on the Board of Directors of Gibney Dance and the New York affiliate of the “I Have a Dream” Foundation. As a result of her community involvement, Ms. Frazier has provided keynote addresses at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City. She spoke during the 54th Session of the Commission for Social Development and during the 60th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women.
Ms. Frazier earned her A.B. in Government from Dartmouth College, her Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia School of Law and her Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation from New York University School of Law.
Ms. Frazier is a proud Brooklyn native and currently resides in Manhattan.
