Chelsea Bonosky grew up in Rochester, NY, studying under the mentorship of Timothy Draper, and attended New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. After graduating, Chelsea was an apprentice with Stephen Petronio, before joining the immersive production, Sleep No More (Punchdrunk), for over five years.
Chelsea has been creating, assisting, performing, and working administratively with Adam Barruch since their initial meeting at Springboard Danse Montreal in 2008, and has been honored to travel the world creating with him. In 2016, they formed Anatomiae Occultii, where she acts as Associate Director. Chelsea is a guest artist with Josh Beamish, Gabrielle Lamb, and Sarah Elgart, specializing in site-specific dance and film.
In 2017, Chelsea presented her first solo show at Gibney to rave reviews. She collaborated with Adam Barruch, Pavel Zustiak, Gabrielle Lamb, and Mary Carter to create and perform in an evening of four solos. Her site-specific dance film, LUNA, was selected and screened at The ADF Movies by Movers Film Festival.
Chelsea is an invited performer of the Margie Gillis Legacy Project and participates in Conflict-Transformation workshops hosted by Ms. Gillis, geared at the education of movement to transform. Chelsea is a Pilates instructor, Reiki II certified, and a studying Buddhist. She sits as an Ambassador to The Free Body Project, a non-profit organization working at the intersection of dance and social justice, and is a Teaching Artist with ASTEP, teaching the power of movement.
