Daniel is ever inspired by the healing and transformative power of dance and movement! He danced with American Ballet Theatre for 15 years, performed as a soloist with the National Ballet of Canada and also performed with the Metropolitan Opera, Eglevsky Ballet, the Birmingham Royal Ballet, the Royal Ballet, Cherylyn Lavignino Dance and Lydia Johnson Dance. He trained with Ceyhun Ozsoy in Dallas, Texas and at the Royal Ballet School in London. At the age of 16 he was awarded as a Presidential Scholar in the Arts and invited to dance at the Kennedy Center. During his performing career he worked closely with Maggie Black and Kim Abel. As a choreographer, he has created ballets for American Ballet Theatre, The Seattle Symphony, New York Theatre Ballet, Columbia Ballet Collaborative, Avant Chamber Ballet and The Ensemble for the Romantic Century. He has regularly taught ballet class for Zvi Gotheiner, substituting for him at New York City Center. He has also taught ballet for GOOD MOVE, American Liberty Ballet, Park Cities Dance, Ozsoy School of Ballet, Chamberlain Ballet, Air Studio, Adelphi University, and Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. Daniel is an ACE certified personal trainer specializing in Fascia Stretch; he offers assisted-stretch sessions and self-stretch classes that positively change fascia, helping to strengthen and increase movement and self-embodiment. He has taught Fascia Stretch classes for Gibney Dance, American Liberty Ballet, Christodora, Kinespirit, Fluid Fitness, The Curative, Maha Rose, Minka Brooklyn, The Ballet Spot and The Friendship.
Daniel’s ballet class focuses on cultivating energetic and anatomical awareness, alignment and connection. It starts with a slow and thorough barre and progresses to fun, dance-y center work. Inspired by his work with Maggie Black, Kim Abel and Zvi Gotheiner, Daniel teaches within a placement method that honors each dancer’s individuality, simplifying and clarifying to help dancers achieve a high level of ballet technique and artistic expression in a healthy, holistic way.
