My first years as a Dance professional brought me to Europe, where I performed and taught, learning the techniques of Flying Low and Passing Through as an assistant to, and performer with David Zambrano. Later, my work brought me throughout the Americas for the past 10+ years, including experiences as an Emerging Choreographer at Springboard, a teacher at Springboard X, and a director of my own projects and collaborations, including Performance and a Party.

Every child has known God, Not the God of names, Not the God of don’ts, Not the God who ever does anything weird, But the God who knows only 4 words. And keeps repeating them, saying: ‘Come Dance with Me.’ – Hafiz, Sufí poet (1320-1389)

Qigong

Qigong is about feeling good and helping people. Yup, that simple. ‘Qi’ means ‘Energy’. And ‘Gong’ means work. So in this class we are going to work with our own energy in order to recapture vitality, process emotions, and regulate our nervous system. Qigong is an ancient healing practice rooted in Chinese Medicine, and uses the body’s own energy to rebalance itself, enabling us to sleep better, digest better, and feel more alive. The work is accessible to all, and can be done seated or standing. We will take the forms we learn, and transform them into the formless as we express and dance.
