Jane Cho is a seasoned arts administrator with 20 years of leadership experience. A certified Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI) practitioner since 2004, Cho is an exceptional team builder and communicator who inspires and empowers others through collective trust and shared values.
Prior to Gibney, Cho provided strategic and entrepreneurial leadership as Director of Administration at the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College, CUNY. Her portfolio included facility and staff management, recruitment and retention, financial planning, marketing and communications, fundraising, and advancing student success through innovative programs and initiatives.
Passionate about promoting diversity in the arts, Cho launched an arts diversity leadership program, “Achieving Diversity: Arts Administration Leadership Project,” a holistic student leadership program which provides tailored career support for underrepresented and minority arts students at Queens College. In 2021, Cho was also appointed co-chair of the DEI Strategic Planning Committee at Queens College, and helped the college to develop its DEI mission and plans for the next five years.
Prior to Queens College, CUNY, Cho served as an Associate Director and later Interim Director of the Career Development Center at The Juilliard School, providing career and professional support for students, staff and faculty.
An experienced facilitator and public speaker, Cho was a moderator for the NextGen sessions of Chamber Music America’s national conference, and appeared as a guest speaker at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen, Demark. She presents frequently at professional conferences on DEI, Professional Development, and other human and social-related issues.
Supporting, advocating, and educating the next generation of arts leaders is paramount to Cho. As an adjunct faculty, she taught piano performance at the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College, as well as a Career Development course she designed specifically for performing and visual art students.
Cho holds her Bachelor of Music degree from The Juilliard School, her Master of Music degree from Manhattan School of Music, and completed the Management and Leadership in Education Certificate Program at Harvard Graduate School of Education as an inaugural cohort member of the CUNY-Harvard Consortium.
