Keely Garfield has choreographed for theater, musicals, ballet, film, MTV, site-specific projects, and universities, as well as for her company, Keely Garfield Dance (KGD). Highlights include: The Joyce Theater, Danspace Project, Chocolate Factory, Zenon Dance, Groundworks Dancetheater, DTW, NYLA, Gibney Dance, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Tanzmesse, Radio Bremen/Canal Arte, Dance Theater of Harlem, Rubin Museum of Art, Sundance Theater, New Jersey Shakespeare Festival, and The Wooden Floor. Garfield is a 2017 Guggenheim Fellow, NYFA Fellow, and KGD has garnered multiple New York Dance and Performance Awards “Bessies”. Keely hold a MFA from University of Wisconsin Milwaukee and she teaches at The New School. She is also a E-RYT 800, Integrative Therapist, and Reiki Master, specializing in wellness for dancers. A spirit of philosophical investigation and compassionate concern continues to shape Keely’s path as an artist, and is central in her creative endeavor.
