Loren joined Gibney as the Institutional Giving Manager in September 2017, and subsequently held the role of Senior Manager of Institutional Giving before transitioning to her current role of Deputy Director of Development. Prior to Gibney, Loren served as the Development Assistant at the American Dance Festival (ADF). As a student at ADF, she additionally had the opportunity to perform works by Nicholas Leichter and Teena Marie Custer.
Loren was a member of the inaugural class of the Union County Academy of Performing Arts High School. Post graduation, Loren took a gap-year in Israel as part of the Nativ College Leadership Program, where she attended the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and volunteered on a youth village, working in the olive fields and petting zoo. In October 2018, Loren presented research examining the effects of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict on the development of contemporary dance in Palestine at the Jews and Jewishness in the Dance World Conference at Arizona State University. Loren again presented this research at the Conney Conference on Jewish Arts at the 92 Street Y in April 2019. Her research focuses on the intersectionality of dance, conflict and peace studies, anthropology, and religion.
Currently, Loren serves on the Executive Committee of the Dance/NYC Junior Committee, a proactive working committee of emerging dance leaders who participate in a range of professional development activities and engage in critical dialogue about the NYC dance field with a focus on equity, inclusion, and advocacy. In her spare time, she enjoys seeing an array of performances across the City. She is also a former, long time volunteer staff member of United Synagogue Youth, where she had the pleasure of working with Jewish youth in grades 6-12.
Loren holds a B.A. in Dance and Business Administration from Muhlenberg College, where she graduated magna cum laude.
