Madison Johnson is a New York City-based artist and performer with a lifelong passion for dance. Born
and raised in North Carolina, she began dancing at the age of two years old and has been onstage or
behind the scenes ever since. Madison graduated from North Carolina State University where she
performed for four years as a member of the State Dance Company under the direction of Tara Mullins
and Francine Ott. She had the pleasure of learning from many talented artists along the way, including
Monica Bill Barnes, Contra Tiempo, and Gerri Houlihan. She also attended the American Dance Festival
as a Leadership Scholar and performed in an original piece by Abby Zbikowski. Madison is thrilled to be
joining the team at Gibney and is grateful for the chance to grow alongside this talented community.
