Marianna Allen (she/her) is a freelance dance artist based in New York City. She graduated in 2022 from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University with a BFA in Dance and minors in Gender & Media Studies and Women’s & Gender Studies. During her time at Rutgers, Marianna performed works by renowned choreographers including Chuck Wilt, Dawn Marie Bazemore, John Heginbotham, and Abby Zbikowski, as well as choreographed and collaborated with peers to showcase both live performances and dance films. Professionally, Marianna has danced for OcampoWang Dance, DanceKerr & Dancers, John Evans, Ani Javian, Julia Ramirez, Chantal Taluba, and Friends Who Dance Collective. She has performed at Green Space, White Wave Dance Festival, Mark Morris, and Mignolo Arts Center, and her choreographic work has been showcased through Mason Gross School of the Arts, Dance New Jersey, and Mignolo Arts Center. Marianna is currently interested in integrating her knowledge of gender and politics with dance through performance and choreography, as well as expanding her experience in arts administration.
