Nicholas Kao is a Brooklyn-based dance artist. Originally from Texas, he attended The University of Texas at Austin where he earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance. While at UT Austin, he worked with faculty choreographers Charles O. Anderson, David Justin, and Lyn C. Wiltshire. During this time he was also given the opportunity to work with guest artists such as Johnnie C. Mercer, Lorenzo “Rennie” Harris, Manuel Vignoulle, Kate Watson-Wallace, and Abby Zbikowski. In addition to working with these artists, he has also choreographed his own works fusing aspects of Hip-Hop and calisthenics with other dance forms. One of these works was performed aboard, on tour in Austria. Nicholas is currently in his second season with H.T. Chen & Dancers and enjoys collaborating with other artists on outside projects.
