Sarah Murdukhayev is a graduate from Hofstra University’s class of 2018, earning a Bachelor of Science in Education with a concentration in Dance Education. Sarah’s passion for dance led her to join Imani Dance Ensemble, a student run hip-hop club on campus that she eventually became the President of. She also involved herself in other organizations like Hofstra’s Danceworks Performance Club, Teaching Dance As Art (T’DAA), Mind over Vision over Movement (MoVoM), Dancers in Schools, WRHU 88.7FM Radio Hofstra University and AHRC. AHRC was a weekly workshop offered in the spring semesters providing adults with wide ranges of disabilities the opportunity to enhance their motor skills by exploring the art and beauty of movement. She has attended the National Dance Education Organization conference in 2016, 2017, and 2018 based in Washington D.C., San Antonio, Texas, and San Diego, California, respectively, where she was able to expose herself to new ideas and strategies from dance teachers all across the United States. Ms. Murdukhayev has studied with Earl Mosley in his summer dance intensive, Earl Mosley’s Institute of the Arts, and Doug Varone’s winter intensive with Doug Varone and Company. Currently she is completing an internship at Gibney in New York City, assisting the non-profit organization everyway she can, welcoming guests and encouraging an enjoyable day full of dance.
