Community Action Workshop with GDC

Gibney Dance Company members will share the foundational structure of Gibney’s Move to Move Beyond workshop model which is offered at domestic violence shelters. Community Action’s evidence-informed program model draws from artistic practices to address issues of choice, self-care, and self-expression.

No dance background necessary! Come wearing comfortable clothing to move in.

ABOUT MOVE TO MOVE BEYOND

Move to Move Beyond, launched in 2000 in partnership with Sanctuary for Families, brings 365 free movement workshops annually to individuals and families who are on journeys to healthier futures. Intimate partner violence survivors have often lacked the power to make choices in their own lives because their impulses have been controlled by another person.
