Kizuna Dance blends streetdance with contemporary floorwork to create works that celebrate the Japanese culture. The company has performed nationally and internationally at prestigious institutions and festivals such as The Japan Society, Performatica, the LDIF Festival, Gibney Dance, and Movement Research, among many others. Committed to outreach, Kizuna Dance has lead workshops and residencies in ten states and internationally in Japan, Mexico, and the UK. Kizuna Dance was founded by Artistic Director Cameron McKinney, whose work has been recognized through a Choreographic Fellowship from the Alvin Ailey Foundation, and through commissions from numerous institutions across the country and abroad.
dance-mobile is an annual series of free outdoor performances & classes in parks throughout the city. By ‘making space for dance’ in outdoor public spaces, Gibney Dance Company hopes to make the power of movement accessible to all members of our community.
