Development has become a big piece of the financial puzzle for dancers and dance companies. Year-end fundraising is a particularly special time to ask for support because it’s the season of giving and the end of the tax year for individuals. This workshop will help dancers build confidence in planning a year-end online fundraising strategy that works for their needs. You’ll walk away with a better understanding of fundraising and with a year-end email strategy of your own!

ABOUT SARAH HORNE

Sarah Horne is a curator, creator and dance consultant. She has been involved in various dance communities over the last 15 years, with experience in audience engagement, artist development, communications and philanthropy. She has developed successful programming as well as fostered important personal and organizational relationships to enhance charity work and community empowerment for the dance field.

Sarah has worked and consulted for large dance organizations like New York City Ballet as well as emerging companies like Cadenza Artists. She has been a teacher/guest speaker on various topics for Gibney Dance, Emily Jefford’s The Collective, PSS Davidson and SUNY Brockport’s Dance Department. Her work in the dance world has been artistic and administrative. Through her company, RahDanceWorks, she is inspired to provide positive community resources and information so that dancers can build sustainable skills and thrive. Everyone has a unique story to share and Sarah believes that the dance field can grow if we make space for diverse voices and experiences.

Registration

Classes will be streamed live via Zoom. You need a device connected to the internet, you don’t need camera capabilities. Students must pre-register for class and download the Zoom app to join.

Registration will close 20 minutes before the class time. 15 minutes before class, you will receive an email with the Zoom link. Please make sure your Zoom name matches the name you signed up for class with. The class will close 10 minutes after its scheduled start time so please join the class on time.

Please be advised that if there is more than one class taker on your zoom, all must be registered for the class before starting. If a class taker is not registered, Gibney staff will remove you from the class immediately. You will be allowed to re-enter the class once all participants have registered.

All classes are in Eastern Standard Time.
