Join Gibney’s DMI Staff to learn and practice every aspect of creating a dance film in this 9-week workshop. With each week, you will learn skills you need to create your individual dance film including coming up with an idea, storyboarding that idea, filming and editing. Participants gain access to DMI equipment and workstations to film and edit their work. The workshop will conclude with a fun and festive screening for family and friends at Gibney’s 280 Broadway center.
If you’re a dancer or choreographer, interested in making a dance film but have no film experience, this workshop is for you. If you’re a seasoned filmmaker interested in telling your story through dance, this workshop is for you. If you’re a creative who wants to learn more about the amazing field of dance film, this workshop is for you. You’ll come away with a fully self-produced dance film, the skills and resources you’ll need to continue creating, and a whole new network of dance film creatives.
