GIBNEY DANCE COMPANY ANNOUNCES 2019-20 COMMISSIONED ARTISTS

GDC is thrilled to present five world premieres by acclaimed choreographers Stefanie Batten  Bland, Peter Chu, Banning Bouldin, Yin Yue, and 2019 GDC/Springboard EMERGE Choreographic Award Recipient, Mark Caserta this year.

FALL SEASON: BOTH/AND
STEFANIE BATTEN BLAND & PETER CHU

GDC’s Fall 2019 season explores what happens when seemingly opposing ideas are invited to co-exist in direct relationship to one another, rather than in isolation. In response to a pervasive ‘either/or’ mentality in our world, how can we move toward embracing a philosophy of ‘both/ and’— as people, as artists, and as citizens of the world?

SPRING SEASON: INSIDER/OUTSIDER
BANNING BOULDIN, MARK CASERTA & YIN YUE

INSIDER/OUTSIDER welcomes choreographers from across the country: Banning Bouldin, Yin Yue, and GDC/Springboard EMERGE Choreographic Award Recipient, Mark Caserta. INSIDER/OUTSIDER is an investigation of duality and intersectionality. Through this exciting evening of dance, GDC is interested in exploring how in life we can be both insiders and outsiders, privileged and oppressed.

Symbio Physiotherapy is Gibney’s exclusive physiotherapy partner in the 2019-2020 Season.
