Brianna Hawk is a 22-year-old dancer and choreographer from New Jersey. She attended the Ocean County Performing Arts High School where she was on the National Honors Society for Dance Arts and won awards such as Most Outstanding Achievement in Dance. This past spring, she graduated with a BFA in dance from The University of the Arts located in Philadelphia. During her time at UArts, Brianna performed in works by Doug Varone, Paul Matteson, Gary Jeter, Helen Simoneau, Marguerite Hemmings and more. In January 2019, she was invited to attend The International Association for Black Dance Conference in Dayton, Ohio. This past summer she attended the American Dance Festival as a leadership scholar, performing in the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company Repertoire as well as the International Choreographer Residency showcase. Apart from her schooling, Brianna has attended training intensives such as Steps on Broadway Contemporary Masters, Victor Quijada’s Rubberbanddance workshop at UNCSA as well as the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane workshop at New York Live Arts. In the spring of 2019, she presented her senior thesis The Aftermath ~ Electric Forest, an investigation on the cycling of relationships in society through a spiraling way of organizing dancers in space. Brianna moved to New York City in September of 2019 to continue pursuing her career as a dance artist, choreographer and movement activist.
