Clara Isabel Díaz is an Afro-Puerto Rican Dancer and Cultural Administrator in New York City. She completed her BA in Art History at Universidad de Puerto Rico, Río Piedras, and a Masters Degree in Arts Administration at Baruch College. She was part of the Museum Seminar Program at Studio Museum in Harlem and has performed at El Museo Del Barrio, Mana Contemporary, Nimbus Dance Center and Pregones Theater, amongst others.

Her administrative work in New York City has led her to develop community focused programs with El Museo del Barrio, The Public Theater’ Public Works and Gibney Dance. She has also worked with New York Latino Film Fest, Mark Morris Dance Center, and Access Broadway. 

In addition to her private practice providing programs and workshops focused on Afro-Puerto Rican Bomba dance traditions, Clara serves as a dance teaching artist in New York City, New Jersey and Puerto Rico with Segunda Quimbamba Folkloric Center, Jamel Gaines’ Creative Outlet, Passaic County Arts Center and Public Works at The Public Theater.
