Naomi Gwynn Adam-Johnston is a dance artist and cultural worker based in Montreal, Quebec. Naomi has participated in numerous performances and showcased choreographic work across Ottawa, Montreal, Israel, and Europe. In 2019 she completed the Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company’s International Dance Journey Program in Northern Israel, and in 2019-2020 she was a member of Cobos Mika’s Junior company in Palamos, Spain. Her formal dance training includes work with Rubberband Dance Group, Margie Gillis, Trip the Light Fantastic, Julia Adam Dance, and Sidra Bell Dance New York. Naomi currently is an ongoing collaborator and dancer for Bulbe Collective, Brittney Canda, and AVIV Arts Co. Her central interest as both an artist and community organizer is how movement connects us – to our bodies, to music, to space, to our environment, as well as to social discourse, and each other. She is committed to creating artistic projects and works that foster community and connection across disciplines, genres, audiences and networks, to allow people to feel inspired and equipped to engage with movement, dance, choreography, and self expression.
