The Winter Study curriculum is designed to serve professional or aspiring professional dancers. By employing a wide range of esteemed faculty representing diverse styles, participants are able to enjoy creative and movement potential daily. Winter Study is intended to be welcoming, supportive, and provide a safe environment for adult students of all abilities to take risks and grow. Participants will join a diverse community of artists pursuing their passion in one of the greatest cities in the world.
Program participants will take 30 classes over the course of two weeks, chosen from Gibney’s open class offerings in a range of dance styles. In addition to dance classes, Winter Study students attend artist discussions with artists active in the field, attend professional development workshops, and experience an Injury Prevention Workshop with the Harkness Center for Dance Injuries.
NYC Winter Study will include performance visits at venues across the city. New York City is home to countless dance companies and performance venues. Seeing dance works is an important activity for any dancer and is a highlight of training in NYC.
