In this session, we’ll talk through ways to strategically grow your professional network. Appreciating the current state of the world, the session will prioritize using LinkedIn and other digital resources to build your network. We’ll address how to identify targets, how to craft your approach, and how to nurture your network after the initial connection.

ABOUT KAREN GOLDFEDER

Karen Goldfeder is DoSomething.org’s Vice President of Business Development where she oversees all corporate partnerships at DoSomething.org, the global not-for-profit that empowers young people to take action around causes they are passionate about. With 5MM active members worldwide, DoSomething.org is the largest member organization for young people and social change. While at DoSomething.org, Karen has managed initiatives with Coca-Cola, CVS, ESPN, H&M, JetBlue, and other top youth brands.
Karen has been involved in not-for-profit management for over 10 years. Prior to her role with DoSomething.org, Karen served as Development Director for Second Stage and managed the Signature Theatre Company’s capital campaign to open a Frank Gehry-designed theatre complex in Times Square. She currently serves on Gibney’s Development Committee and the Westside YMCA’s Community Outreach Committee and is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Public Service at NYU Wagner.

Karen earned a BA from Boston College and holds an MBA from Columbia Business School.

REGISTRATION

Classes will be streamed live via Zoom. You need a device connected to the internet, you don’t need camera capabilities. Students must pre-register for class and download the Zoom app to join.

Registration will close 20 minutes before the class time. 15 minutes before class, you will receive an email with the Zoom link. Please make sure your Zoom name matches the name you signed up for class with. The class will close 10 minutes after its scheduled start time so please join the class on time.

Please be advised that if there is more than one class taker on your zoom, all must be registered for the class before starting. If a class taker is not registered, Gibney staff will remove you from the class immediately. You will be allowed to re-enter the class once all participants have registered.

Gibney will provide Live Transcription via Otter Live Notes for this class. To access the live transcript in the Zoom meeting, click the red LIVE indicator and then select “View Stream on Otter.ai Live Notes” in the dropdown. The live transcript will open in a separate browser window.
