During Deeper Lectures Sahar Damoni shares the context and journey that has shaped her life and work as a Palestinian artist in Israel/Palestine, sharing key, life-changing moments that led her to choose dance and choreography as tools of expression.

About Sahar Damoni

Sahar Damoni is a human being, an Arab, a woman, a Palestinian choreographer, and dancer from Shafa-amer in Galilee. She lives under occupation in Israel/Palestine and yet carries an Israeli ID.

“And yes, we have a lands in Israel \Palestine, and yes, there is a  Land for Palestinian Arabs  inside Israel\ Palestine before and after 1948.”

Sahar Damoni’s body of work deals with the challenges she faces as a woman in an Arab and Palestinian society. Making contemporary dance work that challenges her customs and gender norms and the political status-quo on a contested piece of land.

“My only real home is my body; My identity, the artistic generator; My psyche, the laboratory.”
