Mary Payne
Operations Associate
Mary Payne (she/her) is a dancer, choreographer, arts administrator, and teaching artist originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Having grown up as a competitive dancer, she continued pursuing her passion for dance at the University of Alabama, where she earned an Honors BA in History and a minor in Dance as an Art. She has broadened her understanding of dance through her studies at the London Contemporary Dance School, choreographing and performing at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, producing her own evening-length contemporary dance concert, and training at RUBBERBAND and Graham for Europe intensives. Mary is curious about how our various passions and interests intersect to form unique perspectives, and she finds great value in bringing her background as a historian into the dance industry. She is excited to be in New York, working as a freelance dance artist.
