Classes and Workshops

Interested in teaching a class or workshop at Gibney?

We have space rental packages available for both for-profit (charging students) and non-profit classes (not charging students). Whether it’s a tap workshop, pilates session, or ballet class, our diverse array of studio spaces can accommodate any need you may have!

Our most frequently rented spaces for classes and workshops are Studio D, Studio E, Studio G, Studio V, and Studio X.

Private Lessons

Gibney is the perfect place to host your private lessons in a vibrant and creative setting.

Our most frequently rented studios for private lessons include some of our smaller studios, including Studio A, Studio B, Studio F, Studio G, Studio 8, and Studio 9.

Special Events

Gibney offers versatile studio rentals for a variety of special events, including lectures, conferences, networking events, private celebrations, and more. Our flexible spaces can be customized to fit your event’s needs, and we can also provide dedicated rooms for storage to help your event run smoothly.

Showings and Performances

Gibney offers versatile performance spaces available to artists, arts organizations, and event producers.

Our flexible spaces can include professional lighting, sound, and seating configurations, along with expert production support to meet the needs of any performance or event with the use of our add-ons.

Rental Options:

You may reserve Studio H by the hour for performances or secure a full-day lockout, which provides exclusive access to the studio for all operational hours (Mon–Fri 8am–10pm; Weekends 10am–10pm). Lockouts are perfect for days that include rehearsal, tech, and performance.

What’s Included:

Base rental options include use of Studio H as a performance space, plus its two dressing rooms. Lighting, sound, microphones, draping, and projection can be added on to customize the experience based on your production needs.

Lighting Packages:

  • Basic Light Look: A static full-wash look, selected from our look book.
  • 5 Light Look: Up to ten transitions using preset looks.
  • Custom Light Look: A tailored design created in collaboration with our in-house lighting designer.

Please note: Any live lighting changes (including dimming) require a Gibney Event Staff Member (GES). Only the Basic Light Look can run without a GES. If you are interested in renting space for your performance, please fill out our online form.

Our main performance space, Studio H, is ideal for performances of any scale, workshops, and showcases. Available for both hourly rentals and full-day lockouts, Studio H offers artists the freedom to shape the space to their unique creative vision.

Production Lockouts

Gibney offers rehearsal studio space for theatrical productions, commercial projects, and other creative work throughout the development and rehearsal process.

Photo and Video Shoots

Gibney offers several dynamic spaces perfect for long-term and short-term photoshoot and videoshoot needs, whether you are looking for a place to take new headshots, photograph a new line of dance wear, or set your next feature film.

Both our 280 and 890 Broadway locations come equipped with freight elevators so that you can load in any necessary camera, lighting, or sound equipment. Some of our studios, such as Studio H and Studio Y, have lighting plots that can be utilized for some extra flair.
